Cyclist Safety Initiative
Serotta Custom Bicycles is very concerned with your safety on the road. Core Cycle shares their concern and as such we have joined with Serotta in an initiatve to help you ride safely. We encourage you to read the following message, download the Serotta Cyclist Safety Initiative document and perform regular checks on your bike. Your safety is our biggest concern.

The following is an exerpt from Serotta Custom Bicycles:

"We are hearing more and more stories of serious accidents due to catastrophic failure of carbon parts - far more in the last year than any of us in the bicycle industry should be comfortable with. Broken carbon fiber seat posts, forks, handlebars - fortunately, most of our customers are coming through these mishaps without serious injury. But whenever catastrophic failure is a possibility, so is serious injury or death. "

There is just too much potentially dangerous product being ridden by too many uninformed cyclists for any of us in the industry to sleep well at night. The reasons for these failures range from bicycles that are under-engineered and under-built in the name of saving weight, to manufacturing and testing processes that are under-regulated, to cyclists that know little about the life cycle, care or durability of new materials.

It's up to those of us who design, build, sell and repair these sophisticated machines to do everything in our power to stop this trend and keep our customers safe.Just as an airline pilot or race car driver visually inspects his or her equipment on a regular basis, so should a cyclist.

By taking the lead in preventative care, we can save cyclists from potentially serious or fatal injury."
